There has been a lot of buzz ahead of the game as RCB and SRH have produced some mouth-watering battles in the past. Ahead of their much-anticipated IPL 2024 meeting, Virat Kohli reunited with Sri Lankan spin maestro Muttiah Muralitharan during a training session at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday. The duo can be seen shaking hands as Kohli completed his batting session in the nets.

Muttiah Muralitharan is the current bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Murali, as he has fondly called, represented Chennai Super Kings for the first three editions (2008 to 2010) before joining the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011. After one season with Kochi, he was bought by RCB in 2012, where he played till 2014 before moving to coaching.

Muttiah Muralitharan had shared the dressing room with Virat Kohli and played 21 games across three seasons for RCB, taking 21 wickets at an average of 26.71 and an economy rate of just 7.10. His best bowling figures for RCB were 3/21, which came on April 12, 2012, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium against the Chennai Super Kings.
Coming back to RCB, the Faf du Plessis-led side has a mountain to climb as we move into the second half of the IPL 2024 season. RCB. have played six games, but have secured one win so far, losing the five other games. Their results have put them at the bottom of the IPL 2024 standings. Only a Herculean effort from here on can give them a sniff a making it to the playoffs. Their solitary win of the competition came against PBKS on March 25.
