The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) rekindled its senior national men’s team ahead of the much-awaited T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the US. Babar Azam, who had stepped down from his post after the ODI World Cup debacle, was reappointed as captain whereas the likes of Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir came out of retirement to strengthen the side.
As Babar returns to the captain’s shoes, former cricket Basit Ali has thrown down the gauntlet to him. Ali has challenged the Pakistan skipper to smash three consecutive sixes straight down the ground against top-tier teams. If Babar succeeds, the former cricketer has promised to delete his YouTube channel.
“I’m challenging Babar Azam. If he hits three straight sixes against the top teams, not against USA or Ireland, the top-tier teams in the World, I will shut my YouTube channel,” Ali said.

“If he accepts this challenge, he should say he accepts it. And if he can’t hit those sixes in the World Cup, then he shouldn’t open the batting,” he added.

PCB announce huge prize money if team wins the T20 World Cup 2024
The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that each member of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad will get USD 100,000 if the team wins the ICC event in June in the West Indies and the US.
The PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi announced after spending nearly two hours with the players here before departing for the away T20 series against Ireland and England on Monday night. He also said that the prize money held no importance compared to lifting the trophy, expressing the hope that the team would raise the Pakistan flag.
“Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi announced to give 100,000 dollars prize to every player for winning the T20 World Cup,” the PCB posted on social media.
The men in green are scheduled to travel to Ireland for a T20I series before heading into the showpiece, starting next month.
