In today’s modern era, every household owns two-wheelers, considering them a necessity for a quick and efficient commute. Two-wheelers play a vital role in minimizing travel time. However, as the monsoon season unfolds across the country annually, individuals must exert extra effort to ensure the safety of their vehicles. Similar to cars, two-wheelers are manufactured with various materials such as metal and plastic, necessitating regular servicing for smooth operation.
Neglecting necessary maintenance may result in problems and inconvenience for those planning bike tours. Consequently, individuals often seek the expertise of bike mechanics to address and rectify issues, ensuring their two-wheelers remain in optimal condition for hassle-free travel.
The Local18 team reached out to bike mechanic Venkatesh regarding the same and asked him for tips to keep the two-wheeler tour ready every time. Venkatesh hails from Puducherry and has expertise in bikes and related issues. During the interaction with the team, Venkatesh, based on his expertise, said, “During the rainy season, a large number of vehicles are refurbished. Rainwater enters the bike through the clutch wire and spark plug. So, people should get their two-wheelers checked once before the rainy season starts, and if not, they should get their bikes and scooters normal service.”
He added, “Apart from this, most people park their bike and leave it with a side stand. During monsoons, when the side stand is installed, the rainwater enters through it smoothly which would cause problems when we start the bike, so instead of a side stand, the centre stand should be put in to prevent the vehicle from any harm.”
Besides, people must keep in mind the general tips to protect their bikes from any damage. They should park the two-wheeler in a sheltered area without exposure to rainwater. This step ensures the prevention of accumulation in various parts of the vehicle. In addition to that, use waterproof covers to shield your vehicle from any negative impact of rainy water.
