Rajinikanth is all set to make a highly-anticipated appearance in his daughter Aishwarya’s upcoming film, Lal Salaam. The actor has just completed the dubbing for his role in the film. This project is shaping up to be an extraordinary collaboration between the father-daughter duo. The revelation of Rajinikanth’s salary demand for his special portrayal as Moideen Bhai in Lal Salaam has raised eyebrows and generated intense buzz within the film industry. Superstar Rajinikanth is rumoured to have demanded a staggering Rs 40 crore as his salary for a cameo.
Earlier, Aishwarya Rajini shared the poster of the film on her Instagram handle with the caption,”#Moideenbhai..welcome…#lalslaam cannot caption when your heart is racing! #blessed.” In the photo, the superstar was seen in a kurta and a red hat. The look was completed by a pair of sunglasses.
The film is centred around cricket and features Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles. The musical genius, AR Rahman is set to compose the film’s soundtrack. Last year in December, AR Rahman shared a video where he was seen playing the harmonium while Aishwarya Rajinikanth watched with keen interest. In his caption, he wrote, “Jamming with the most promising female director Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth for Lal Salaam in Mumbai.”
Meanwhile, apart from Rajinikanth, legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev is also set to make a special appearance in the film.
Lal Salaam is expected to hit the screens later this year with the shooting currently in progress. With this special role, Rajinikanth marks his return to the big screen after a break. His portrayal of Moideen Bhai is eagerly awaited by fans, who are thrilled to see the legendary actor in a new avatar.
Workwise, apart from Lal Salaam, Rajinikanth will be seen in Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer. The film also features Tamannah and Shiva Rajkumar in the lead roles. The film will be released on August 10, 2023. Ravichander, who has previously collaborated with Rajinikanth on the film Petta (2019), is once again taking on the role of music director for Jailer.
Furthermore, Rajinikanth’s last appearance on the big screen was in Annaatthe, where he shared the screen with Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh. The film also featured a talented ensemble cast, including Jagapathi Babu, Abhimanyu Singh, Soori, Bala, Prakash Raj, Meena, Khushbu, and others in supporting roles. Despite the mixed reviews, Annaatthe managed to make a significant impact at the box office, grossing approximately Rs. 240 crore.
