New Delhi: Telecom major run by India-born CEO Arun Sarin—Vodafone on Tuesday signed an agreement with Bharti on offering global services like cheaper roaming, multimedia and internet services in the Channel Islands in Europe.
Sunil Mittal’s Bharti Ltd will start a mobile service in UK very soon under the dual brand name of both the companies, Airtel-Vodafone. Vodafone has also signed a MoU with Bharti Airtel on infrastructure sharing in India.
To the UK customers, a range of Vodafone services would be made available by the company like Vodafone's Passport service which is a simple roaming price plan that offers cheap roaming across the world.
Airtel-Vodafone services will also include a mobile multimedia service; Vodafone Simply, a straightforward voice and data package and the Vodafone Mobile Connect Card for laptops, which makes possible wireless Internet access.
"At Bharti it has always been our endeavour to bring world-class services to our customers. We are happy to partner with Vodafone to offer services tailored to the needs of customers in this region", Bharti Enterprises CMD Sunil Mittal said in a company release.
