New Delhi: Shoppers' Stop may soon be a stop not only for shopping, but also for a full meal.

Shoppers' Stop is betting big on its food business. Its own Cafe Brio will soon replace Barista in all its stores.

The company also plans to expand its Indian snack brand Desi Cafe and its bakery - Fresh Basket.

It is also looking at setting up two sit-down multi cusine food courts.

A few Brios and one outlet each of Desi Cafe and Fresh Basket are already up and running.

The two food courts will be rolled out by the end of the year. Each Shopper's Stop will have one or more of these outlets.

CEO, Shoppers' Stop, Govind Shrikhande says, "Depending on the size or space we will have a combination of concepts, depending on how large is the store."

With 19 stores across the country, Shoppers' Stop gets about 1.5 crore footfalls a year.

It estimates that shoppers spends an average 35-40 minutes in lifestyle stores. Serve them food and they'll stay on longer.

Shrikhande says, "Food will help keep the customer in the store and it will add to our ticket size."

Mumbai based food chain, Blue Food will be the supply partner, whereas concepts will be designed inhouse.

As of now, the food stores will be housed only with the Shoppers' Stop stores.

But in the future, they could even become stand alone eateries.
