Bangalore: Server, storage and HPC solutions provider major Netweb Technologies has announced the launch of Tyrone Opslag FS2, a new unified flexible storage solution.
The next generation unified flexible storage solution unifies the NAS and SAN in one box, providing user flexibility on the amount they require using the solution as a NAS or SAN or both.
Another additional feature of the FS2 is its I/O unification, starting from gigabit Ethernet to 10 Gigabit Ethernet to fFibre Channel to (10/20/40Gb/s) InfiniBand, in combination, or all. FS2 provides scalability from a few TB to 576TB. It also offers transfer speeds upto 2GB/s when used with InfiniBand, while maintaining compatibility with fibre-channel, to support legacy infrastructure.
“These are troubling times, and in such times we require products and solutions to meet customer demands in such a way that the product does multiple things, offers multiple configurations, gives superb performance, and above all, should not hurt the pocket. We have designed this product taking consideration of all these parameters,” Sanjay Lodha, CEO of Netweb Technologies, said.
Interconnect solutions firm Mellanox Technologies has partnered Netweb Technologies in the development of the product.
Speaking about the product, Wayne Augsburger, Vice-President of Business Development at Mellanox Technologies, said, ““The 40Gb/s InfiniBand-based FS2 from NetWeb can reduce power consumption and lower total cost of ownership for data centers while providing real world customer advantages such as increased application performance, reduced backup times, and greater system consolidation.”
