Ira Khan, the daughter of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, recently tied the knot with Nupur Shikhare. She is the daughter of his ex-wife, Reena Dutta. Despite his divorce, the Laal Singh Chaddha actor still shares a close bond with Ira’s mother. Reena Dutta and Aamir were married for 16 years. Even though Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta decided to get separated after a 16-year marriage in 2002, their split was not a bitter experience. According to reports, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta’s relationship started in a very filmy manner. Both were neighbours, and they often used to stare at each other for hours through their windows. Aamir fell in love with Reena first. One day, Aamir gathered the courage to tell her about his feelings for her, but a sceptical Reena turned him down. But the actor never stepped back; he persuaded her a few more times, but Reena always rejected the offer.
Just when Aamir Khan had given up hope, Reena Dutta told Aamir she felt the same way for him. During an interview back in 1999, the actor said, “I spent a little more time than normal in front of my window. I just told her that I loved her, and I hoped that she felt the same about me.”
He further said, “And as it happened, she said that she didn’t, so I was devastated that this couldn’t happen to me again. I’m not the type of man to give up quickly. I didn’t take no for an answer. When we finally met two days later, she replied, I still feel the same. I avoided the window. I was heartbroken, and I was trying to stay away from her and get over her.”
