Sara Ali Khan is busy promoting two OTT releases, Murder Mubarak and Ae Watan Mere Watan. While Sara awaits the audience’s true reaction to her new films, she recently revealed that it took her years to get over her previous failures like Love Aaj Kal and Coolie No. 1.
“After an Atrangi Re, I was forgiven for Love Aaj Kal, and it took Zara Hatke Zara Bachke to start forgiving myself. I take longer to forgive myself than my audience. But hopefully, with a film like this (Ae Watan Mere Watan), there would be more love from the audience and more forgiveness from my side,” she told India Today.
“Love Aaj Kal and Coolie No 1 together was the only time where I truly had to face that. And it took really long. It took me years to get over it. I think I am about to (get over),” she added.
In a recent interview, Sara was asked about her aim in life to which she replied, “I want to be the better version of myself every day. I just genuinely feel that you should love and allow yourself to breathe, something different starts happening. I have always been a secure person, but I am not that over-the-top self-less kind of a person. Finally, I am reaching the stage, where I am genuinely happy for people being around me and it comes from genuine gratitude for whatever it is we have. Everybody asks for your aim but no one sees where you come from. I am living my dream and I want to feel it. I have two outstanding trailers on the internet and two of my films are releasing this month. The last time I felt this was in December 2018 and now I feel that way again.”
Meanwhile, as Ae Watan Mere Watan awaits its release, Murder Mubarak has already been released on Netflix. The murder mystery boasts of an ensemble cast including Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Suhail Nayyar and Aashim Gulati.
