Mithun Chakraborty REACTS To Winning Padma Bhushan Award: 'Bohot Takleef Ke Baad Jab...'
Mithun Chakraborty reacted to his win and thanked his fans across the globe for their love and respect.

The Padma Bhushan Awardees for 2024 were announced recently and Mithun Chakraborty has been named as one of the recipients. The actor has had an illustrious journey in the film industry since 1976 and has been the recipient of several prestigious honours like the National Award among others. The actor has now reacted to his win, via his son Namashi’s social media.

Namashi took to his Instagram story to share a video of Mithun reacting to his Padma Bhushan Award win. In the video, Mithun said, “Bohot khushi, bohot anand, sab kuch mila ke ek aisi feeling hai jo main bayaan nahi kar sakta. Bohot takleefo ke baad jab itna bada sammaan milta hai toh uski feeling hi kuch aur hoti hai.”

“Sab ko thank you itna pyaar aur sammaan dene ke liye. Aur main iss award ko dedicate kar raha hoon mere saare fans ko, India aur world main. Jo bhi, jinhone bhi mujhe niswarth pyaar diya hai, mere well wishers ko, sab ke liye main yeh dedicate kar raha hoon. Thank you for giving me so much love and respect,” he said.

Earlier during the day, Namashi exclusively spoke to News18 about his father’s achievement. He told us, “I think India has finally given its OG hero his due. My father in his entire life has never asked for an award. He always won them because of his own merit. That’s what makes us prouder.”

Revealing how Mithun and his family learned about the actor’s win, Namashi said, “Dad is shooting in a remote area near Bangalore right now. So, none of us are with him. In fact, we were not even aware that he has gotten the award because we had not spoken to dad. He wasn’t informed about being felicitated with the honour before. When we got the news at about eleven o’clock last night, we somehow managed to reach him.”

Besides Mithun, the Padma Bhushan awardees are renowned singer Usha Uthup, acclaimed music composer Pyarelal Sharma, of the Laxmikant-Pyarelal duo, and late Tamil actor Vijayakanth (posthumous).
