Bengaluru To Experience Power Cuts Till January 20; List Of Areas To Be Affected
Power cut will be due to several maintenance works to be carried out by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) in the city

Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited’s (BESCOM) website has stated that the city will experience power cuts until Friday, January 20. This is because the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) is going to be carrying out several maintenance works in the city. The planned outages are in line with the monthly and quarterly maintenance.

This also comes into effect for preparing hotline observations before summer, stringing of circuits, and replacing existing lines. KTPCL is also responsible for testing of transformers, station maintenance, and dismantling old towers, along with other work. In their notice, BESCOM has mentioned the exact areas that are going to be affected by the outage with specific dates. It also includes the duration of the outage and the reason for the planned interruption.

Here is the date-wise list of the affected areas as reported by Hindustan Times:

On January 18 the following areas will be affected:

Huvinamadu, Ballur, Kolkunte, Giriyapura, Kaidal, Hadadi, Kalbande, Kukkawada Rural, Lokikere, Kanagondanahalli, T. Devarahalli, Rameswhara kavalu, Kutlarahatti, Kavanahalli, Mallurahatti, Halejogihatti, Kavalu Basaveshwaranagra, Gunthakolammanahalli, Torekolammanahalli, Koradihatti, Chintamani, Rayalpad, Ganjigunte, Pallicherlu, Dibburahalli and Sadali substations, Gowribidanur, Thondebhavi, Matti Rural, Nagarasan Halli, Kalkere, Kolenahalli, Channenahalli, Kyasinakere, Lingapura, Rampura, Benakanahalli, Hirebasur, Hotyapura, Gowrasamudra, Mallasamudra, Bandetimmalapura, Manchenahalli, Gundlukottur, Gudibande, D Palya, Vidhurashwatha, Ramapura, Somanathapura, Somanahalli, Bagepalli, Vatadahosahalli, Kodigenahalli, Vijayapura and local areas, Shettimadamanagala, Talagawra, Cheemangala, Y. The following areas will see a power outage on January 19:

On January 20, the following parts of Bengaluru will face power outages:

Tolahunase, Kurki, Kabbur, Gopanalu, Bada and Kandagallu, Attigere, Bada, Hanumanahalli, R G Halli, Ranganatha, Anagodu, Attigere, Mayakonda, Sasaluhalla, Chikkajajuru, Anapura, Bulasagara, Siddarameshwara, Hanumanahalli, Machegondanahalli, Kyathinkoppa, Doddaghtta, Harmallenahalli, Hulikalu, Bydadakodigehalli, Vittaladevarahalli, Koralaru, Nadavathi, AWHO Apartments, Addagal, Rayalapadu and Gownipalli, Thimmalapura, Neralagundi, Singatagere, Anjaneya water works, Kundur, Kulamb, Bannikodu, Nelahonne, Mukthenahalli, Yakkanahalli, Savalanga, Kodtalu, Chinnikatte, Ganjinahalli, Madapura, Mussenalu, Jayanagara, Devanahalli Taluk and Brigade orchards apartments.

Furthermore, it is important to note that the outages are likely to continue beyond the above-mentioned dates. Several regions of the city have been experiencing the same since January 1.
