The upcoming flagship electric vehicle from Mahindra, the XUV.e9, has been spotted on Indian roads.
Mahindra and Mahindra have been making some serious strides to take India’s EV market by storm.
They have been working on several new electric vehicles that will be launched in early 2025 onwards. Mahindra currently has just the XUV400 in their EV lineup. However, the XUV.e9 could be making its way to the Indian markets soon.
The car is currently undergoing testing have been spotted several times on Indian roads before its debut. The XUV.e9 was recently seen in blue camouflage, generating some massive excitement amongst automobile enthusiasts, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Mahindra XUV.e9: Features
The Mahindra XUV.e9 is going to boast a massive screen setup which spans nearly the entire width of the dashboard. This setup will reportedly include integrated displays which will have a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a passenger display.
Mahindra’s upcoming offering will also provide multi-zone climate control, (adaptive) cruise control, ventilated and powered front seats, wireless charging for smartphones and an advanced sound system. Being an EV, the XUV.e9 will also have multi-level regen and vehicle-to-load (V2L) technologies.
Mahindra XUV.e9: Safety Features
When it comes to safety, Mahindra is expected to equip the XUVe.9 with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPAS) and ADAS features. Given how the XUV700 performed in the Global NCAP crash tests, expectations from the Mahindra XUV.e9 will be high.
Mahindra XUV.e9: Powertrain
The upcoming XUV.e9 will will be based on the INGLO platform which will house 60 kWh and 80 kWh battery packs. Given the platform and the size of the battery packs, the XUV.e9 can accommodate both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive setups. It is also expected to deliver a claimed range of up to 500 km. The car will also be expected to feature fast charging capabilities that would see the battery go from 0 to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes.
Mahindra XUV.e9: Pricing And Launch
The Mahindra XUV.e9 will follow the launch of XUV.e8 which is expected to arrive by the end of this year. This means that we likely won’t see the XUV.e9 on the market until 2025. Mahindra’s upcoming flagship offering should start at Rs 38 lakh (ex-showroom). Given its features and pricing the XUV.e9 will likely be competing with the upcoming Harrier EV and Safari EV from TATA.
