Pune-based Tork Motors are known for making India’s first electric motorcycles. In September 2016 they unveiled the look of their first commercial motorcycle Tork T6X that will be priced at Rs 1,24,999 (Company Selling Price).
And this one is an electric bike with zero emissions and the company claims it's born for the race track.
It took seven years of extensive research and development to develop the T6X by India's own Elon Musk, Kapil Shelke who's the founder of Tork Motors. But he's more India-focused than Tesla.
The T6X will have many firsts to its credit in the two wheeler segment like on board navigation, storage, cloud connectivity, full digital display, quick charge and superior acceleration. It will connect with customer’s mobile device through Tork’s app to communicate its health, range, service alerts and customised riding profiles. Apart from these, the T6X will also have a range of advanced safety features like ABS, CDS, anti-theft, geofencing and daytime running lamp (DRL).
Powered by lithium ion batteries, the T6X claims of a top speed of 100 km/h. It also boasts of a mileage of 100km on a single charge. The battery can be charged up to 80% in an hour and, full charge in two hours. Depending upon the usage of the bike, the battery life can last up to approximately 80,000 - 1,00,000 kms.
The T6X is also designed as a super-electric-bike and will have an appeal among Indian buyers with sporty graphics and aggressive design elements.
T6X will be introduced in three markets of Pune, Bangalore and Delhi in the first phase. Kapil Shelke's company is also working towards building a robust charging infrastructure in these target markets.
