New Delhi: The first day of the 11th Auto Expo saw some of the biggest names from the B-town including mega star Amitabh Bachchan and John Abraham adding Bollywood glamour to the car show.

Other celebrities who flew down to the capital to lend their support to their favourite brands were heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and actor-director Farhan Akhtar.

Amitabh Bachchan, an automobile buff, unveiled DC Avanti a creation of automotive designer Dilip Chabaria. "I am very happy to promote this car. Me and Dilip go a long way. We have mutual respect and interest for each other's work. I think what he has been doing is amazing and a talent like him should be encouraged," he said.

The 69-year-old actor hailed the 25 lakh car as the country's first super car. "With this car, we can now prove to the world that India is no less than any other country. I hope DC continues to do the good work and make us proud," Bachchan added. Bollywood hunk and passionate biker John Abraham, who is the brand ambassador for Yamaha motors, unveiled a girls scooty, a maiden venture by the company.

"I have been a big fan of Yamaha for the past 7 years. My association with the brand is growing with each passing day. In my last film, 'Desi Boyz', the director had asked me to ride some other bike and I denied and rode my very own Yamaha V-Max. My first bike was an Yamaha RD 315 and it all started from there," said John while unveiling the first 'she' Yamaha in pink.

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is the brand ambassador to represent the Nissan brand in India, also stopped by for a visit to the company pavilion at the Expo.
