The leading two-wheeler maker in India Bajaj Auto is set to introduce a next-generation Chetak electric scooter. Ahead of the official launch, the company has confirmed that the model will use a new platform and offer a better style statement.
According to the details shared by the Teambhp, quoting the company’s CEO and MD, Rajiv Bajaj. He said, “There will be more Chetaks, and a new Chetak platform, early next financial year.”
He also revealed the product will be enhanced in the country, and some tech-loaded affordable and premium variants will be released before the current fiscal ends.
Future of Electric Motorcyle
Reacting about the future of electric motorcycles in India, the top official said that the battery-powered scooter has more potential and has more mass market. He said, “As a company, we strongly believe that while scooters and motorcycles will both be popular, scooters in the electric format hold far greater potential than motorcycles.”
Bajaj Freedom 125
Meanwhile, the company has added the latest model to its fleet called Freedom 125. It is the first CNG motorcyle in India that runs on both petrol and gas. It was released at the starting price of Rs 95,055, while the top model goes up to Rs 1.10 lakh (all ex-showroom).
Upcoming CNG Motorcyle
To attract more customers towards the segment, the company is reportedly working on a new CNG model. It is expected to arrive soon. The news already has been confirmed by the official. It is likely to be more affordable compared to Freedom 125.
