The Story of Karva Chauth
Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a beautiful and kind-hearted girl named Karva. She loved her husband, Bhola, very much. Karva would observe the Karva Chauth fast for her husband.
One day, Karva’s husband went to the river to take a bath. Suddenly, a crocodile grabbed his leg and pulled him into the river. When Karva learned of this, she was very worried. She immediately took a raw thread and tied the crocodile to a tree.
To save Bhola, Karva performed rigorous penance for a year. She observed the fast for a whole year and prayed for her husband’s release. Finally, pleased with Karva’s penance, Lord Shiva brought Bhola back to life.
Seeing Bhola alive, Karva was very happy. She praised Lord Shiva and Karva Mata. Lord Shiva blessed Karva that she would always be happy and ever-married.
