Emraan Hashmi On His Telugu Debut With Pawan Kalyan: 'Want to Explore Unfamiliar Territory' | Exclusive
Emraan Hashmi is now looking for a new chapter in his acting career, as he is soon going to make his Telugu debut with Pawan Kalyan starrer OG.

Tiger 3, the latest addition to the YRF Spy Universe, was released earlier this month. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the film which has already crossed Rs 400 crore at the global box office, features Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif reprising their roles as Tiger and Zoya while Emraan Hashmi made waves as the antagonist Aatish Rehman.

Hashmi is now looking for a new chapter in his acting career, as he is soon going to make his Telugu debut with Pawan Kalyan starrer OG. A gangster drama, directed by Sahoo director Sujeeth, it will see the Murder actor playing a negative character.

In an exclusive conversation with News18, Hashmi says, “It’s an ambitious film and is mounted on a big scale. It’s a pan-India film and this is the audience who may have known me as an actor but have not necessarily seen my films. I also wanted to explore a larger audience and work in this unfamiliar territory and penetrate down South, something that I hadn’t done before.”

Without revealing too much about the character, the actor adds, “The character that I am playing and the world that Sujeeth has created for OG are very fascinating. I also feel fortunate working with Pawan Kalyan who has such an amazing screen presence.”

Talking about the success and the love that he is receiving for his role in Tiger-3, which is undoubtedly the biggest hit of Hashmi’s career, the actor says that he is just grateful that the hard work and patience has paid off, “When so many people go and watch your film, it is good validation. Even for the team, it is great validation that we put so much work into this film; it is such an ambitious project. It was an interesting journey, I had never imagined that I would probably play an antagonist in (this) franchise because I have watched both the Tiger films and had loved it. I am just trying to process all the love that has been coming my way.”

The actor also opened up about sharing the screen space with Salman for the first time as he said, “He is one of the most secure actors who is very honest and doesn’t have any ego. The best way to describe Salman Khan is ‘what you see is what you get’. There is no air around him… he will make you feel at ease. My first scene was with Salman, which was a huge monologue. It was easy working with him because we vibe well. I am very fond of him.”
