NZ vs PAK, 2nd T20I: Babar Azam Shares Funny Moment with Young Azam Khan on the Field - WATCH
Babar Azam and young Azam Khan shared a funny moment on the field going up against New Zealand in the 2nd T20I.

Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam pulled off a chucklesome celebration with wicketkeeper Azam Khan during the 2nd T20I against New Zealand. While playing at Seddon Park in Hamilton against the Kiwis, Babar was spotted having some fun with the 25-year-old.

While saving a wide ball, delivered by Haris Rauf, Azam displayed incredible agility as he dived to prevent the ball from going for an additional four runs. The wicketkeeping effort was appreciated by the ex-skipper as he ran towards Azam while jumping and colliding with him. However, the result was something that Babar would not have expected. Upon the collision, Babar tumbled onto the ground, leaving the social media users in splits.

One of the fans reacted to the former skipper’s hilarious gesture by saying, “How can you hate that man?”

Another suggested that it was also a classic Pakistani cricket moment. “Just Pakistani things”, read the comment.

A social media user cheekily suggested that Babar Azam wanted to “climb” Azam Khan’s back.

“Loved this wicketkeeper”, wrote another.

Coming back to on-field developments, after enduring a poor outing against Australia, Babar Azam seems to have now scripted a much-needed comeback. In the three-match Test series, Babar scored a total of 126 runs. It was the third-lowest Test aggregate in his career. Babar has smashed a total of 123 runs in two matches he has played so far against New Zealand

On the other side, Azam Khan has not been able to impress so far. The young wicketkeeper found a place in the national squad having displayed some great performances in the domestic circuit. The wicketkeeper-batter has managed scores of 10 and two against New Zealand.

The series started with Pakistan conceding a 46-run defeat in their opener at Eden Park. In that match, Babar scored 57 in Pakistan’s run chase but they could not earn a victory.

The second T20I was a similar case as Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. A 74-run knock from New Zealand’s Finn Allen helped the hosts put up 194 losing eight wickets. Haris Rauf had the best bowling performance in that innings for Pakistan as he dismissed three Kiwi batters conceding 38 runs. It was Babar Azam who stepped up once again for the visitors, scoring 66 runs off 43 balls. Despite, Babar’s brilliance, Pakistan fell 21 runs short of the target to concede their second defeat in the series.
