As the scorching heat continues to wreak havoc on people across the country, it is becoming unbearable to travel in a car without an AC. Air-conditioned cars are lifesavers in this weather, but what if the cab driver doesn’t switch on the AC? Travelling without AC can be a real challenge, which no one wants to go through. However, an X user recently took to the micro-blogging site and shared his altercation with an Uber cab driver in Bengaluru after he faced something similar.
The video unfolds to show the man saying that everything was fine during the journey until the cab driver suddenly got angry when he asked him to switch on the AC. The said man claimed that the driver, who initially spoke to him in Hindi, lost his cool and later asserted that he spoke in Kannada.
Sharing the video on X (formerly known as Twitter), the man wrote, “Since everyone is forming an opinion, let me share the context here—the 16-second video is the first, followed by the other video. I refused to sit in his friend’s Indica as it didn’t have AC and was filthy. Then I sat in his car, and he talked to me in Hindi only.”
“But the moment I asked him to turn on the AC, he got charged up. Listen to him responding in Hindi, ‘AC Nahi Hai.’ It’s not about language here; it’s about an arrogant and irresponsible person using Kannada as a smokescreen to continue scamming gullible people who travel to BLR for work,” he added.
The passenger also shared an image of the cab’s number and mentioned that he had already reported the driver to Uber Support.

“You should file a complaint at app and drop the matter there. You can mention rude behavior of driver. you might not have been the first customer to suffer from him. Let his rating go down. Don’t bring everything to public,” a comment read.

“The passenger seems to be nervous seeing the rowdy behaviour of the taxi driver. No point in talking so soberly sweetly with him instead of taking alternative measure. That driver should be banned by all cab aggregators immediately,” suggested a user.

Meanwhile, cab drivers like Ola, Uber, and Rapido have started the ‘No AC’ campaign, causing discomfort and inconvenience to passengers. The campaign, initiated by Telangana Gig and Platform Union (TGPWU), specifies how the cab drivers associated with the Uber and Ola apps are not able to turn on the air conditioners in their cars due to high fuel and maintenance costs.
