Vistara Airline has been making news for quite some time now, whether for flight delays or its non-vegetarian meal policy. Now, a humorous message mocking Vistara has made a lot of social media users smile.
Ritesh Banglani, an X (Formerly Twitter) user, tweeted a photo of a brochure he saw on his Vistara flight announcing that the airline was named the 20th best in the world for in-flight entertainment.
“I may fall upon hard times, but I hope things are never so bad that I have to brag about being 20th best in anything,” he posted on X and shared a picture of the brochure. The post was shared on March 28 and so far, it has collected over 64,000 views and more than 1,000 likes.

His witty post has garnered thousands of views and interesting comments. While some agreed with him, others said that Vistara’s achievement is commendable given the level of competition the full-service airline had at the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
A user commented, “Among the top 20 is the better marketing spiel.” Another wrote, “Omg! I saw this yesterday and felt the same”. An account remarked, “At least they are honest. There is always a way to slice data in a way that you come out at the top.” While a user wrote, “If their inflight is the 20th best… I don’t want to even know what is after 21!” A person mentioned “Ha ha ha. Everyone should get a participation prize.” Several others left laughing face emojis in the comments section.
Vistara became the only Indian airline to be ranked among the world’s top 20 in-flight entertainment providers in 2023. Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong, took first rank in that category, followed by Emirates and Qatar Airways.
“This award recognises those airlines that seek to deliver a fantastic experience to their passengers,” explained the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards website, adding that factors such as the availability and functionality of onboard Wi-Fi, as well as the choice of films and TV shows, were considered when selecting the winners.
One of the few Indian airlines, Vistara provides in-flight entertainment on domestic flights as well. Its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft include a 12-inch personal entertainment screen, and its Airbus A321neo aircraft have a 10-inch in-flight screen.
