American athlete Emily Delleman has offered a sneak peek into the dating scene inside the Olympic Village in Paris. Delleman made her debut at the global showpiece this year as part of the USA women’s rowing team. Taking some time out from her sports assignments, the 26-year-old decided to use Tinder, a dating app. She also shared her experience in a video on TikTok. According to a report by SkyNews.com.au, some of her female followers asked Delleman to change her location on the dating app to the Olympic Village.
“I was laying in my cardboard bed the other day recovering and I was scrolling through TikTok and I was seeing the girlies saying ‘Hey change your location to the Olympic Village’ and I was like ‘Oh my gosh genius’,” Emily Delleman revealed in her TikTok video, as quoted by NDTV.
The suggestion prompted Emily Delleman to re-download the app. After logging into it, Delleman found a special feature for the Paris Olympics. “They’re like ‘match with pro athletes using our new feature’ … and I was like okay this must be good. I was getting excited, the expectations were rising,” she revealed.
Emily Delleman failed in her first attempt as she could not spot any active athlete on the dating app. She rechecked the location setting and it was set at a one-mile radius of the Olympic Village. When she started scrolling through the Tinder feed for the second time, Delleman could find only two other Olympians.
“I mean don’t get me wrong, you Parisian men are beautiful, chefs kiss like I don’t know what they put in the water. But you know I went in with the expectations of finding some of my future plot lines but alas I guess we’re searching for other forms of entertainment and that’s why you’re finding me on TikTok,” Emily Delleman said.
Recently, US tennis star Coco Gauff raised questions about the conditions of the Olympic Village in Paris. In a TikTok video, Gauff revealed that except for her, all other members of the US women’s tennis team had fled to a hotel as they could not stay at the $1.6 billion housing complex.
According to Gauf, ten athletes were sharing a room which was meant for 8 people. “10 girls, two bathrooms,” she shared on TikTok, as per NDTV. The 20-year-old further explained that she had to borrow a mattress cover from the US archery team. As per the rules of the Olympic Village, athletes can only share their rooms with their own teams.
