This Rs 24 Crore Vietnam Park Built In 2001 Is Now Considered 'Scarier Than Hell'
The project was financed by the Vietnam city's tourism company, but despite a large number of tourists, problems began immediately.

The world of water parks is very unique. Many theme parks are made for entertainment and relaxation purposes, especially for families and children. But only a few are famous. There is one such park, which has been closed and is now known more for its scary nature. This theme park in Vietnam is now considered scarier than hell.

Ho Thoi Tien, also known as Thien An Parkam in Vietnam, started in 2001 as an ambitious project costing Rs 24.25 crore. There is a monastery nearby, and the area is known for its natural beauty, making it a natural attraction for tourists.

The project was financed by the city’s tourism company, but despite a good number of tourists, problems began immediately. When it opened to punters in 2004, the park was only half built. But high hopes for success were dashed just a few months into the project, and the park closed down.

Later, attempts were made to revive it and turn it into an eco-tourism complex in 2006. However, it failed to attract enough tourists, and it was closed again in 2011. Now, rusty slides have been replaced with overgrown plants, while scary figures such as dragon statues dominate the scenery.

According to a report in 2016, even the fish tanks were filled with water, but there was no sign of life inside. Reports suggest, “Because the closed waterpark is so mysterious, backpackers write directions on folded napkins, put pins on Google Maps, and show each other photos to get to the right spot.”

In 2023, plans were released by local officials to clean up the park and make it usable for camping as well as turn it into a popular tourist destination.

In India, last year, Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, officially unveiled India’s first park with a Vedic theme, Ved Van Park, in Sector 78 in Noida. The park is home to more than 50,000 plants, including the coconut, kalpavriksha and banyan, which are described in Vedic literature. The park’s construction started in January 2021, and according to reports, it now occupies the site of a trash yard. The soil has to be compacted to provide a favourable environment for tree planting and to make building easier.
