Almost everyone in the world loves chocolate. They are often considered to be a person’s guilty pleasure and are enjoyed by both adults and children. Chocolates come in a variety of flavours. Even though they are quite popular all around the world, recently, a video has been making the rounds on the internet where a group of Ivory Coast cocoa farmers can be seen trying chocolate for the very first time in their lives. Needless to say, their reaction is priceless.

Ivory Coast is the largest cocoa-producing country, contributing to around 45 percent of the world’s total production. Cocoa farmers work day in and day out to produce some of the finest chocolates in the world. The bitter-sweet clip has stunned social media, where some farmers can be seen tasting the chocolate. In the clip, a man is seen talking to a cocoa farmer named Alphonso.

According to the video, Alphonso has just been involved in the process of drying up the beans. He has never seen what these cocoa beans are used for. He can also be seen discussing the fact that he doesn’t know what these dried cocoa beans are made into. Later, the man offers him a piece of chocolate and explains to him that these cocoa beans are turned into chocolate.

After tasting the chocolate, Alphonso is impressed by the taste and even shares it with other farmers, who were also unaware of the production of chocolate. Alphonso can be heard saying, “We complain because growing cocoa is hard work. Now we enjoy the result. What a privilege to taste it.”

The viral video was uploaded on the microblogging platform X by an account named @spottedhyacinth. It was captioned, “I’ll never forget this clip of a cocoa farmer in Ivory Coast tasting chocolate for the first time.” Many users went to the comment section and expressed their views. One of the users wrote, “I gasped after watching this. Incredible”. Another user commented, “Brutal! These countries need to step up their leadership, which knows how to do business.”
