A woman from Moscow recently got the shock of her life when she entered her bathroom and saw a full-grown white boa constrictor snake in her toilet bowl. Exotic snakes crawling out of toilets may not be newsworthy in countries like Australia or Brazil, where the slithering reptiles are practically a part of everyday life, but as a European living in a busy city, you don’t necessarily expect such a thing.

However, a woman almost suffered a heart attack when she entered her bathroom and saw an albino boa constrictor coming out of her toilet bowl. The shocked woman slammed the bathroom door and immediately called emergency services. It turned out that the snake was a fellow resident of the apartment building who was simply exploring the drainpipe system.

According to the Telegram channel SHOT, the albino boa constrictor belonged to another resident of the building who had left it in his bathroom to clean his terrarium. The curious reptile reportedly managed to enter the plumbing system through the bathtub drain and make its way into the woman’s toilet bowl. This boa is reportedly a repeat offender, as it escaped from its terrarium two years ago and was found by another frightened neighbour in the apartment building’s stairwell.

When police arrived, they took a few photos of the snake before calling a snake expert to remove it from the woman’s bathroom. They then took another photo of themselves holding the snake, because why not?

It’s unclear if the snake’s owner faced any consequences, as this was the second incident of its kind in two years, but one thing is for sure: the boa is an explorer.

In another incident, the recent discovery of a woman in her toilet has caused some to refrain from visiting. It’s not a snake or spider that’s got people worried, though, but a toilet full of green tree frogs – a seemingly rare sight. Kimberly from Melbourne shared a video on TikTok showing dozens of colourful frogs stacked on top of each other in a toilet. The image has now received over three million likes.
