YouTuber Sanju Techy tries to enact Malayalam movie scene by setting up a swimming pool in a moving car, booked.

A YouTuber from Kerala is in hot water after a daring stunt inspired by a popular Malayalam movie went awry. Sanju Techy, the YouTuber in question, turned a moving car into a makeshift swimming pool by lining it with a tarpaulin sheet and filling it with water, all in an attempt to mimic a scene from the movie ‘Aavesham’.

In the video, Sanju and his friends are seen enjoying a swim in their makeshift pool inside the car, sipping tender coconut water as they cruise down a busy road. Their antics quickly caught the attention of onlookers and soon after, the authorities. The sight of a car doubling as a swimming pool was both amusing and alarming to many.

Trouble started when water began leaking into the driver’s seat and engine. Panicked, Sanju instructed his friend, who was driving, to open the door and drain the water from their pool on wheels. They stopped the car in the middle of the road, releasing the water and causing a massive traffic jam. This impromptu pool party turned into a chaotic scene, with water flooding the street and causing significant disruption.

The video of this stunt quickly went viral, drawing widespread criticism from the public and authorities alike. The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) took notice and summoned Sanju Techy. He was charged with six offenses, ranging from reckless driving to creating a public nuisance, and had to appear before the Enforcement Road Transport Officer on Wednesday.

“They released the water from the vehicle onto the road in a dangerous manner, creating serious safety threat to other vehicle users in the road," a senior MVD official told reporters. The stunt not only posed a risk to those involved but also to other motorists who had to navigate the unexpected flood on the busy road.

As a consequence, Sanju and three others in the car were ordered to perform community service at the Government Medical College Hospital for a week and attend the department’s training program. This punishment was intended to teach them a lesson in civic responsibility and the importance of road safety. Additionally, the driver’s licence of the person who drove the car will be suspended for a year, further emphasising the severity of their actions.
