New Delhi: OnePlus, the young smartphone brand that has built for itself a sizeable fan base the world over since it released its first device a couple of years ago, has unveiled two new phones under its new X product line (read our first-impressions review of the OnePlus X).
The two new smartphones are OnePlus X Onyx and the limited edition OnePlus X Ceramic. The Onyx is priced at Rs 16,999, while the Creamic carries a price tag of Rs 22,999. Only 10,000 units of the OnePlus X Ceramic will be produced, says the company.
In true OnePlus tradition, The OnePlus X will be initially be available only via invites. However, the company says from the month after its release, OnePlus X could also be bought through weekly open sales. Both the phones will be available exclusively through Amazon India.
The phones will be made in India at Hyderabad. The Onyx will be available from November 5, while the Ceramic will go on sale from November 24.
While both the variants of the OnePlus X share the same specifications, the Ceramic version has, well, a ceramic back, while Onyx has a black glass rear (Images: OnePlus X).
At its heart, the OnePlus X, has a Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.3 GHz quad-core CPUs. The GPU is a Qualcomm Adreno 330. The RAM is a sizeable 3 GB.
The X which is the third phone in the OnePlus lineup has a few firsts to its name, when it comes to OnePlus phones. It includes built-in FM radio, dual-SIM support and a 5-inch AMOLED screen. It also includes support for expandable storage of up to 128 GB. It is also the smallest OnePlus phone till date.
The phones come with a 13 megapixel rear camera along with an 8 megapixel shooter on the front.
The X includes the alert-slider that OnePlus was the first to introduce for Android phones.
