Motorola new flagship phone - the Moto X Style (known as the Moto X Pure Edition in some markets) is now available for pre-order on Flipkart. Prices for the base 16 GB model starts at Rs 29,999 and goes up to Rs 31,999 for 32 GB.
Flipkart and Motorola are also offering launch offers for the Moto X Style including 100 per cent cashback and exchange offer of up to Rs 15,000. The offers are valid from October 15-20.
The Moto X Style comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD almost bezel-free display and under its hood is a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor coupled with 3GB LPDDR3 RAM.
The phone is water repellent and features a powerful 21 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash. It also includes a 5 megapixel front snapper with f/2.0 aperture, wide-angle lens, and slow motion video feature. The rear camera, on the other hand, offers 4K recording feature.
The phone offers a pure Android Lollipop experience and is available in 16 GB or 32 GB variants with microSD card support for up to 128 GB memory expansion. The phone will soon get an Android Marshmallow update.
With a claimed fastest charging battery than any phone in the market, a 15-minute charge of the 3000mAh battery provides the Moto X Style with 8 hours of power.
The phone is 4G LTE enabled and will be available in Black and White colour choices.
The Moto X Style may look quite similar to the Moto X Play from the front, but the difference is quite evident as you turn it around. The rear of the phone has a ribbed pattern that not only give it a premium appeal, but also adds to its grip. Ergonomically designed, the phone is comfortable to hold and use, but is not meant for single-handed use. Besides the textured back, another thing that adds to the phone's looks is the metallic frame running along it.
Unlike the Moto X Play, the back of the Moto X Style is non-removable, meaning you cannot swap the back panels in the Moto X Style as you can do in the Moto X Play. But this isn't really a big disadvantage.
The 5.7-inch Quad HD display (1440 x 2560 pixels) is good to look at, in terms of both colour reproduction and viewing angles, and features thin bezels. The front of the phone also sports stereo speakers - one each at both top and bottom - that generate excellent audio results - loud and clear.
What also makes the front of the Moto X Style different from the rest of the Motorola phones is the flash accompanying the front shooter - making it the 'Selfie Moto'. We got to take a couple of shots with the phone's front camera, and surprisingly, it impressed us with the results. The front camera is also capable of capturing 1080p video.
The main camera at the rear has a 21 megapixel sensor with a dual-tone flash. The camera not only performed great in bright light conditions, but also took good images in soft-light conditions. Talking about videos, the Moto X Style's rear camera lets users shoot 4K videos. Cameras on the Moto phones were what had always left me disappointed, but having used the Moto X Play's cameras and briefly tested the Moto X Style's, my opinion about the Moto cameras are changing.
Quite like the Moto X Play, the Moto X Style has a single tray at the top - for both SIM cards (4G + 4G) and a microSD card (of up to 128 GB).
While the phone was announced internationally in three variants (16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB), Motorola has brought to India only the first two. The former is priced at Rs 29,999, while the latter at Rs 31,999 - making them competitively priced. The company seems to have no plans to bring the 128 GB variant to the country.
