New Delhi: It seems HTC just can't help being inspired by competitors when it comes to designing its new products. After defending its latest One A9 as ‘not’ a copy of the iPhone 6, HTC’s iteration of the same device in a larger size has been leaked on China’s TENAA agency.

Images of the purported device, dubbed the HTC X9, are shown to feature a bigger 5.5-inch HD display and run a 2.2GHz Quad Core SoC coupled with 2 GB of RAM.

With 16 GB of internal storage, the phone is said to feature a 13 megapixel rear camera combined with a 5 megapixel front snapper.

After allegations that the HTC One A9 borrowed design elements from the Apple device, the leaked images further fuel speculations that the design of the successor is inspired by the newest Huawei Nexus 6P and the Lenovo PHAB Plus for its glass-covered camera bar at the rear.

The images further hint at the return of HTC's Boomsound stereo speakers, which didn’t make it to the One A9. However, the speakers seem to have been placed at the cost of a fingerprint sensor.

Recently, the Taiwanese company also raised eyebrows for its One A9 commercial that blatantly took a dig at rival Apple’s 1984 ad for the Macintosh.

The company’s executive defended the One A9’s design saying that it was in fact Apple which copied the idea of a metal design with visible antenna bands from HTC.

HTC is yet to officially announce the rumoured X9 device and whether the purported device yet again takes on design elements from competitor devices could only be established then.
