"Grand Theft Auto V" and "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" were by far and away the most tweeted about games on Twitter in 2015, according to an official chart released on February 5.
With sales of over 60 million units between its September 2013 debut, "Grand Theft Auto V" has since enjoyed five different platform debuts.
Already available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, March 2015 saw a Heists Update delivered to the game's multiplayer component, giving players all the more incentive to spend time in its satirical simulation of Los Angeles, while April saw the "GTA V" experience finally arrive on Windows PC.
It topped Twitter's list of most-tweeted about games of 2015, with November's annual edition to the "Call of Duty" franchise not too far behind.
Twitter channel Twitter Gaming compiled its chart using GfK physical sales data for the UK's ten best-selling games and Twitter data running from January 1 to December 31, 2015.
At 55.5 million tweets combined, "GTA V" and "Black Ops III" were responsible for more activity than the rest of the top ten put together (28.9m).
