Don’t Install iPadOS 18 Update If You Have This iPad Model: What You Should Know
Apple launched the new iPad Pro model this year which has the new M-series chipset but the new iPadOS might not be acting well on the new device.

Apple launched the first M4-powered iPad Pro model earlier this year which is one of the many that will get the Apple Intelligence features next month via iPadOS 18.1 update. However, the company is currently facing issues with the iPadOS 18 version that has rolled out to the M4 iPad Pro this week.

Many iPad Pro M4 users have complained about bricking issues, which basically makes the iPad Pro unusable.

Apple has packed the new iPadOS 18 version with a slew of cosmetic and functional upgrades and features which understandably gets people excited, making them install the latest version on the day of release. But the issues faced by the iPad Pro M4 users has prompted Apple to roll back the iPadOS 18 update and paused it for all the users.

iPadOS 18 Faces The Same Issue

The intriguing part about this development is that Apple seems to have paused the iPadOS 18 roll out only for those using the M4 iPad Pro, which has been the worst affected.

We have already installed the iPadOS 18 version on our iPad Air (non-M series version) and an M1 iPad Air this week, and both of them are working fine. So, it is possible that the bricking issue could be linked to the new M4 chipset powering the latest iPad Pro model. Reports have quoted Apple talking about the pausing of iPadOS 18 update for the device without a proper timeline on when the issue will be resolved and the version will be reissued for these users.

There are some affected users who are trying to get their iPad Pro M4 to restart but it seems their best solution is to head over to the nearest Apple Store and see if those folks can do something about the problem. Talking about iPad, the new iPadOS 18 version brings the first-ever calculator app for the product and Apple has made sure it has more than a regular calculator app. The first version of new updates are always tricky which is why we suggest people should avoid installing them on day one, especially on your primary device.
