Ayalaan is a Tamil sic-fi film that hit theatres during Sankranti week. The film is directed by R Ravi Kumar and was released on January 12. It made news due to rumours of sophisticated computer technology and CGI use in the production. This was done to produce a visually pleasing experience for cinemagoers. Actor Sivakarthikeyan stars in the film and AR Rahman has handled the soundtrack. D Raja produced it under the banners of 24 AM Studios and KJR Studios.
The science-fiction film focuses on aliens arriving on Earth. Recently, the makers of the film released a BTS video for the film. The makers can also be seen talking about the process of making the film in the video.
KJR Studios, the production company behind Ayalaan, has published a video on social media that talks in detail about the creation of their sci-fi concept. The 20-minute video, titled The Making of Ayalaan, has Sivakarthikeyan, director R Ravi Kumar, music composer AR Rahman, editor Ruben, cinematographer Nirav Shah, VFX expert Bejoy Arputharaj and other crew members discussing the amount of work that went into the production of the film.
The director revealed that he talked about this concept to Sivakarthikeyan many years ago. He said, “I told him that if he was ready to do the film, he would develop the idea or abandon it because I believed only he could do that project then." On hearing the script, Sivakarthikeyan said, “When I first heard the script, I was like, I want to become an actor to make films like these. So, I immediately said okay to it. First, I got to read a portion of the film, then more of it, and then a book. That’s how it progressed."
