AR Rahman Appreciated My Work In Captain Miller, Says Music Composer GV Prakash
GV Prakash has recently received a lot of praise for the soundtrack for the film Captain Miller, starring Dhanush.

Ace composer and musician GV Prakash Kumar has won many accolades and awards for his work in the Tamil industry. This has been the case since his debut soundtrack composition for the 2006 movie Veyil. Die-hard fans of the young musician will be aware of the relation between him and AR Rahman. GV Prakash is AR Rahman’s nephew. He is the son of AR Rahman’s sister, AR Reihana. When AR Rahman composed music for Shankar’s 1993 film Gentleman, he had made a young GV Prakash, who was just 5 years old at that time, sing a song for the film. That was GV Prakash’s first brush with the world of entertainment.

GV Prakash has recently received a lot of praise for the soundtrack for the film Captain Miller, starring Dhanush. Captain Miller is G V Prakash’s seventh collaboration with Dhanush after Polladhavan, Aadukalam , Mayakkam Enna, Asuran, Maaran and Vaathi and his first with director Arun Matheswaran. GV Prakash has now said that Captain Miller is a special film for him since it garnered praise from his uncle, AR Rahman.

AR Rahman, after recently watching the film Captain Miller, commended GV Prakash, acknowledging the excellent background score in the movie. GV Prakash expressed his pride in receiving this compliment from AR Rahman, marking the first acknowledgement from the maestro in his 18-year career in the film industry.

During the promotion of Rebel, scheduled for release on March 22, GV Prakash was questioned about the response to Captain Miller. The composer shared that while he received appreciation from various music composers, the call from AR Rahman held a special place in his heart. GV Prakash mentioned how AR Rahman inquired about various aspects of the film and expressed his satisfaction with the work. Having previously worked as an assistant to his uncle, this commendation from him meant a lot to GV Prakash.

In a previous interview, director Arun Matheswaran said that in contrast to his previous films which had minimal background score and relied mostly on silence, Captain Miller needed background music for highlighting the emotional journey of the characters and he felt Prakash was the perfect fit for the film.
