Telugu actress Ananya Nagalla debuted in the industry with the biographical film Mallesham set against a rural backdrop. Her big breakthrough came when she got to share screen space with Pawan Kalyan in 2021’s Vakeel Saab. However, despite the film doing well commercially, success eluded Ananya. Offers did not seem to be coming and the few films she received did not make much impact at the box office.
That changed with this year’s Tantra, a small-budget horror film that performed unexpectedly well at the box office. Now the actress has paid a visit to Tirumala’s Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple to pay her respects to Lord Vishnu as a token of gratitude for the success of Tantra.
A video of Ananya walking barefoot and climbing the famed 3,550 steps leading up to the temple has gone viral on social media. She does not seem to be accompanied by any film members and has reportedly made the pilgrimage alone.

Talking to the media after the darshan, Ananya said she is thankful to Lord Venkateswara for the success of Tantra and asked the media and her fans to wish her all the best for her upcoming film Pottel.
Tantra, a horror film directed by Srinivas Gopisetti, has Dhanush Raghumundry, Laxman Meesala, Saloni Aswani, Kushalini Puliapa, Manoj Muthyam and Sharath Barigela in pivotal roles. Released on March 15, Tantra received an A certificate from the censor board and while most films tend to hide an A rating from the audience, the poster of Tantra had a sprawling A all over it, with clear indications that it was adults only.
The story revolves around a character played by Ananya who has the third eye, which means she can see and hear spirits around her. She is visited by spirits every night who demand an unholy sacrifice from her. She seeks help from a paranormal expert and what happens next forms the crux of the film.
