New Delhi: DMK leader MK Stalin, who was taken into preventive custody on Thursday morning in Thanjavur, has been released by the Tamil Nadu Police. He had objected to the police from stopping his cavalde and threatened to stage a road-block.
After the police intercepted his convoy, Stalin threatened to hold a jam and demanded that the police show him the arrest warrant.
DMK member Pundi Kalaivanan travelling with Stalin, was also detained. The police wanted to question Kalaivanan for his alleged role in the murder of a student.
Stalin spoke exclusively to CNN-IBN saying that the AIADMK government is framing members of the DMK with false cases.
"We are all victims of AIADMK government's Vendetta politics. They are foisting false cases against all our party members," Stalin said.
"This is an attempt to stop our agitation against the AIADMK atrocities. They have posed false cases against us. We have been taken into custody for no reasons. We have been locked up in a hall, and we have no clue when we will be released," added Stalin.
