New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi launched a scathing attack on BJP Saturday. She slammed BJP saying that it did not address issues that helped it reach the corridors of power. Sonia said that BJP’s policies were anti-aam admi and its decisions only added to the woes of the common man.
Sonia said at an election rally in UP, that it was under the BJP that corruption and scams had been the order of the day. "The process continues till date and scams surfacing today lands some BJP leaders in the soup," Sonia was quoted by PTI.
Talking on the Gujarat riots, the Congress president said Gujarat is an example before everyone to see the law and order situation under the BJP rule.
Sonia also came down heavily on the poor performance of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s government of Uttar Pradesh. She blamed Mulayam’s government for wasting thousands of crores of rupees provided by the Centre for development purposes.
UPA government had provided thousands of crores of rupees to UP for providing education, health, power and potable water facilities but no change is seen in the state, she said.
