Mumbai: The Shiv Sena on Wednesday came out strongly against the Peoples Democratic Party and hit out at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed saying, 'he is standing with the terrorists like a father figure'.
In an editorial in party's mouthpiece Saamana, Sena said, "Supporting terrorists is treason. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed should be acted against them. The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minsiter is standing with the terrorists like a father figure."
The remarks over Sayeed's decision to release Hurriyat hardliner Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
On Tuesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party had already issued an ultimatum to its coalition partner Peoples Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir to mend its ways. Sources said that the BJP has warned Sayeed to either mend his ways or else they will have to call off the alliance.
The BJP has made it clear that national security takes precedence over politics.
The remarks came even as the PDP assured the Centre that it will not release any political prisoners without consulting it.
Sources said a strong message is to be given to Sayeed. "Our priority is not government. There will be no compromise either on national security or Common Minimum Programme (CMP). Ideology will not be sacrificed," sources said.
They added, "No one should think that we will bend to run the government. One should be ready for consequences if this happens next time."
