PM to kick-start Uttarakhand campaign on Friday

Dehra Dun: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will kick-start his election campaign for Congress for the coming Assembly polls by holding a rally at Rudrapur in Kumaon region of Uttaranchal on Friday.

He would arrive at the headquarters of the Udhamsingh Nagar district in the afternoon to address the rally which comes barely three days after Congress chief Sonia Gandhi addressed two rallies in Garhwal region.

Both the ruling BJP and main opposition Congress have fielded their candidates on all the 70 seats in the hill state where nearly 64 lakh voters are expected to exercise their franchise on Jan 30.
