Nitish lashes out at Congress over 2G scam
Nitish Kumar accused the Congress of creating political polarisation on terrorism.

Patna: In his first attack on Congress after NDA's landslide victory in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday lashed out at Congress for its 'recalcitrance' on a JPC probe into the 2G spectrum allocations and accused the party of creating political polarisation on terrorism.

"Terrorism of any kind is dangerous, political polarisation on it is also not good," Kumar said at his first weekly 'Janata Darbar' in his second consecutive term in office.

The Chief Minister was reacting to a newsman's query on the controversy generated by Congress leaders, including AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, on 'saffron terrorism' during the party plenary in New Delhi on Sunday.

Criticising Congress, he said, "Opposition parties of all hues support the demand for a JPC inquiry, but Congress is maintaining its recalcitrant stand."

Batting for a JPC probe into the telecom scam, Kumar said it was needed as there were several social, economic and political aspects involved.

"The demand of the Opposition on JPC is genuine. The Supreme Court can probe the criminal aspect of it and the PAC can look into the CAG finds.

"But there are several social, economic and political aspects, including the behind-the-screen game for making the ministry involved in the case. It can be looked into only by a probe panel like JPC," he said.

Continuing his tirade, Kumar said whenever Congress comes to power, corruption and inflation register an increase and held the party responsible for weakening the federal structure of the country.

"The Congress makes a mockery of the states. It continues to rain sinister blows to the federal structure whenever it comes to power," Kumar added.
