Modi should first woo his own ally Nitish: Congress
Reacting to Modi's speech, the Prime Minister's Office also tweeted that funds were allocated to states as per mutually agreed formula.

New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday reacted to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's address to Bengal Inc by saying he should first woo his own ally Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. "Besides moving around the country, Modi should worry about his ally Nitish Kumar. The United States is not giving him a visa. He is paying their ministers to come to Gujarat and Nitish is not allowing him to come to Bihar. Before making such speeches, he must first appease Nitish Kumar," Congress leader Rashid Alvi said.

This came as Modi attempted to woo West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. indirectly by hitting out at the previous Left government in Bengal. He said Bengal suffered a lot due to 32 years of misgovernance. "I believe steps are being taken in the right direction in Bengal but it will take many years," Modi added. He also said Bengal was also being discriminated against just like Gujarat.

As Modi accused the UPA government of discriminating between Congress and non-Congress ruled states, the Prime Minister's Office tweeted, "Fact1: The Centre has allocated funds to states according to mutually agreed formula for 'economic justice'."
