Amritsar: Dismissing charges of having foreign bank accounts and assets of his family members in other countries, Congress leader Amarinder Singh on Saturday dared BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to pursue the accounts and prove that they were his.
"Imagine a man charged with mass murder of hundreds of innocent people never having the moral courage to speak about it, but resorting to myths and lies conceived and created by the dirty tricks department of his party," said Amarinder, hitting back at Modi who while addressing arally in Rajasthan's Barmer alleged that the former Punjab chief minister and his family members held foreign bank accounts and assets in Geneva.
"It is a classic case of pot calling kettle black. This is not for the first time that they have raised it and I am sure this won't be the last time either," he said, adding that Modi had himself refused to say anything in charges of mass murder against him.
Amarinder is the Congress candidate from the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat against senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley and the contest is expected to be a bitter one.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy had, earlier this week, alleged that Amarinder and his wife had a foreign bank account in the US. Amarinder had hit back at Swamy saying that he was a "maverick mercenary".
Amarinder claimed that the personal allegations against him and his family showed that the BJP had conceded defeat from the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat.
