New Delhi: On a day when people voted for 91 Lok Sabha constituencies, many top leaders were seen standing in the queue to exercise their franchise. Aam Aadmi Party leaders Ashutosh Gupta and Yogendra Yadav were among the first few voters.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi cast her vote in the national capital. Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi voted at Aurangzeb Lane polling booth and was accompanid by senior party leaders. His sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra along with her husband Robert Vadra was also among the early voters.
Vice President Hamid Ansari was among the first few to cast his vote in the Nirman Bhavan polling booth. Ansari reached the polling booth no 85 at around 8:30 am.
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders were not far behind in the race. Former BJP president Nitin Gadkari, Delhi BJP chief Harsh Vardhan and Pilibhit MP Varun Gandhi also registered their vote early.
Other senior leaders Praful Patel, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Shashi Tharoor, Pawan Kumar Bansal, Oommen Chandy, Chirag Paswan, Ajay Maken, KV Thomas, AK Antony exercised their franchise early morning.
