Jaswant Singh supporters on rampage, burn Narendra Modi's effigy
Jaswant Singh had expressed his willingness to contest the forthcoming LS polls from his home town Barmer, but the BJP denied him a ticket.

Barmer: A day after senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh was denied ticket from Barmer in Rajasthan, his supporters went on rampage destroying posters of Narendra Modi and burning his effigies.

Jaswant Singh, a sitting MP from Darjeeling, had expressed his willingness to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections from his home town Barmer. But the BJP on Friday gave the Barmer ticket to Colonel Sona Ram Choudhary and reserved the Dahod seat in Gujarat for Singh.

Singh's supporters now want him to contest from Barmer as an Independent candidate. Singh will reach Barmer on Sunday where he will address a rally as a show of strength before filing nominations papers.

According to sources, Rajasthan Chief Minster Vasundhara Raje Scindia was seeking a ticket for Colonel Sona Ram Choudhary.
