A war of words has ensued over Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav's statement that there is no jungle raj in Bihar. Yadav questioned the terror attack at Pathankot Air Force Base and asked is it not jungle raj.
When terrorists enter the most secure airbase, is that not jungle raj? Yadav questioned.
The remarks came when Yadav was questioned on Gaya road rage in which Janata Dal United MLC Manorama Devi's son Rocky Yadav shot dead a youth, Aditya Sachdeva.
Assuring action against the guilty in the case, Yadav said, "Whosoever is guilty will be punished. No other state has taken any action in any case like this before. Manorma devi house was raided, what more action do you want."
Backing his party leader, Rashtriya Janata Dal spokesperson Manoj Jha said, "Our leaders said that if they are charging us of jungle raj then there is jungle raj in other states too that is in Jharkhand, Haryana and others. Manorama Devi cannot be absconding for long. No culprit would be spared. Our commitment is to protect the people and ensure justice as soon as possible."
Rocky Yadav, his father Bindi Yadav and Devi's bodyguard have been arrested while her cook has been detained for questioning.
Demanding justice for his son Aditya, Shyam Sachdeva said, "You should ask the Chief Minister all the questions. They have to decide what to do. Bihar is their house right, they have to decide how to keep it."
The Bharatiya Janata Party has hit out at the state government accusing it of inaction and protecting criminals as Devi continues to be on the run.
"They have always signified jungle raj. What happened in gaya is a question mark on the law and order situation in the state," said Union Minister Giriraj Singh.
