Amid the row over former Indian Premier League (IPL) chief Lalit Modi's visa issue, Udaykumar, the man who spearheaded the anti-Kudankulam nuclear power plant protests, has appealed to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj seeking her help.
The man who led protests against Kudankulam nuclear power plant wants the External Affairs Minister to help him recover his impounded passport.
In an open letter to Swaraj on Facebook, Udaykumar has said that his passport was impounded by the previous Manmohan Singh government because of the Kudankulam protests.
Referring to the Lalit Modi controversy, Udaykumar said that since the foreign minister is helping people on humanitarian grounds, she should help recover his passport as well.
This comes even as the Congress party has been gunning for the External Affairs Minister, who is embroiled in the controversy over Lalit Modi's visa issue in the United Kingdom.
