Ranchi: In more trouble for Bihar BJP leader Giriraj Singh, a Deoghar court on Saturday rejected his bail plea in a hate speech case. Giriraj was booked last month after he said that critics of Narendra Modi will be packed off to Pakistan after the elections. Three FIRs were registered against him over the remarks.
Giriraj, however, got some relief on Friday when the Jharkhand High Court quashed the arrest warrant issued by a Bokaro court against him.
Justice RR Prasad quashed the arrest warrant after the former Bihar minister moved the court following rejection of his anticipatory bail petition by Bokaro District and Sessions Court. Bokaro sub-divisional judicial magistrate had issued non-bailable arrest warrant on April 23.
On April 25, Singh also got an anticipatory bail by Patna District and Sessions Judge Birendra Kumar against another FIR.
