Bhopal: Divya Spandana, the actor-turned-social media whiz who put Congress party’s online presence on the map, has a tantalising offer – win a chance of ‘Coffee with Rahul Gandhi’.
There is a catch though, the offer is limited to only IT Cell functionaries of the party and is meant to give them a greater incentive to work better. Spandana announced this at the launch of the party’s revamped portal for the state in Bhopal on Wednesday.
The ruling BJP has already launched ‘Coffee with CM’ in December for nine winners of Deendayal Upadhyay Quiz Contest being undertaken by the party’s youth wing.
Talking to the newsmen, the Congress IT Cell in charge said that in order to encourage IT Cell workers for excellent performance, she has promised them coffee with Rahul Gandhi.
“Rahul Gandhi has already convened meeting of IT Cell state executives in which he shared the strategy, work plan and desired objectives,” she said, adding that the Congress president has made it clear that whatever is shared on social media platforms should be true.
Handpicked by Gandhi to head IT Cell in May last year, the Kannada actress has brought visible improvements in Congress’ presence in social media in last few months. She has been largely credited with the improved cyber presence of Rahul Gandhi on twitter and other social media platforms.
Her touch was visible in the Congress’ refurbished portal with the home page depicting messages of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and carrying trending messages of Facebook and twitter.
Making party’s intentions amply clear, party state head Arun Yadav said, “The portal would be utilised to brief the common man about party’s activities, propagating BJP govt’s anti-farmer, anti-public policies, exposing corruption of BJP and other objectives.”
