New Delhi: The special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court hearing the 2G spectrum allocation scam case has rejected former telecom minister A Raja's application to argue in person his case in the Supreme Court.

In his application Raja had claimed that there were many facts that the lawyers did not know and he would be in a better position to make his point before the apex court. Raja has also pleaded for a separate trial for charges related to criminal breach of trust.

He had pressed his case by highlighting the alleged contradictory claims by CBI in the case pointing out that the investigating agency had told the trial court that the probe into the 2G spectrum allocation scam was over while it had maintained before the Supreme Court that the investigation was still on.

He had also claimed said that the status report of the CBI is affecting his case.

The DMK MP, who is currently in the Tihar Jail in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam, had on Wednesday moved an application in the Patiala House Court seeking permission to appear in the apex court on Monday.

Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi and top executives of several telecom companies have been arrested by the CBI in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
