Watch: Ian Smith Imitates Ravi Shastri in Commentary Box, Ex-IND Coach and Anjum Chopra in Splits | WATCH
Ian Smith hilariously imitated Ravi Shastri's style of toss announcement, leaving both Shastri and Anjum Chopra in splits during the World Cup 2023 clash between India and Netherlands.

Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri has a unique way of doing commentary, and whenever he steps into the boots of being the match presenter, Shastri has a way of hyping up the crowd. Be it the IPL, or the ODI World Cup games, the former India all-rounder has often chipped in with the mic duties, and his energetic style of announcements surely gives the chills to plenty of fans.

So much so that former New Zealand cricketer Ian Smith tried to imitate Shastri’s commentary during the World Cup clash between India and Netherlands at Bengaluru. The former Indian coach was in the comms box alongside Smith and former Indian women’s team cricketer Anjum Chopra.

The trio were heard discussing commentary styles when Smith admitted that the toss announcements are usually very ‘boring’. While Shastri said that it’s the same nowadays as well, Ian then imitated Ravi’s style of toss announcement, even copying his tone and expressions!

It was actually not much different than how Ravi Shastri does the job when he’s in the middle with the captains at toss. Ian Smith’s funny impression left both Shastri and Chopra in splits who couldn’t control their laughter.

“Welcome to Bengaluru, Happy Diwali day to you all and now we shall have a toss of the coin. The all mighty Richie Richardson in the middle. Now listen to me please everybody..” quipped Smith.
