The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued the paper 1 exam results for the positions of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, and Senior Hindi Translator. Candidates who took the exam can find the merit list PDF, cut-off, and other information on ssc.nic.in. The SSC JHT test was held on October 16.

In all, 2,274 individuals were shortlisted in Paper I to appear in Paper II (Descriptive). In paper 1, the minimum qualifying marks are 30 per cent for the unreserved category, 25 per cent for OBC, and EWS. The result will have the roll numbers and names of all the shortlisted candidates.

Candidates can download merit lists by following the instructions provided-

Step 1: Go to the SSC’s official website at ssc.nic.in.

Step 2: From the site, select the ‘Result’ tab.

Step 3: Next, navigate to the ‘JHT’ section and click on the PDF link titled ‘Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, and Senior Hindi Translator Examination, 2023 (Paper-I): List of candidates shortlisted in Paper-I for appearing in Paper-II (Descriptive)’

Step 4: Download the SSC JHT Result PDF and review the shortlisted candidates’ information.

The commission has released the category-specific cut-offs along with the number of candidates who passed the exam. Qualified candidates are eligible to take Paper 2, which is a descriptive paper. The descriptive-type paper is scheduled for December 31, 2023. In due time, the admission certificates of the shortlisted candidates will be posted on the websites of the relevant regional offices.

Representations received from candidates regarding the Answer Keys have been thoroughly reviewed, and the Answer Keys have been updated as needed. For evaluation, the Final Answer Keys were used. Further, the commission mentioned, “The Final Answer Keys along with the Question Paper(s) as well as marks of the qualified/nonqualified candidates shall be uploaded on the website of the Commission in due course.”

This recruitment drive by SSC aims to fill a total of 307 positions. Candidates who applied were expected to have a master’s degree in either Hindi or English, with either subject being a necessary subject. Further, the candidate could have a postgraduate degree from any discipline, but only if they had English or Hindi as a necessary course. Those coming from a different profession, however, were required to have a diploma in translation or two years of prior work experience to be considered for the position.
