Dhoni, the skipper of the joint most successful side in the history of the cahs-rich T20 franchise tournament IPL, is gearing up for another season of the 20-over entertainer.

Dhoni led Chennai to their fifth IPL title in the 2023 edition of the tournament as they beat Gujarat Titans in the final to clinch the illustrious cup yet again, adding to their massive trophy haul.

Chennai also had a brilliant outing at the recently held IPL player auction as the men in yellow managed to rope in big names such as Daryll Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, Mustafizur Rahman, Shardul Thakur, while also roping in young guns such as Sameer Rizvi, Avanish Rao Aravelly.

CSK shelled out a huge chunk of their purse in pursuit of Mitchell as they brought the Kiwi for a whooping 14 Crore Indian Rupees, while compatriot and World Cup revelation Ravindra was brought for a measly 1.8 Crores.

Indian all-rounder Shardul was added to the Chennai ranks yet again as he makes a return to the yellow following his 4 Crore purchase at the 2024 auction, while Bangladesh pacer Rahman was brought in for 2 Crores.

Chennai also went big on the procurement of Rizvi, who cost CSK 8.4 Crores, while Aravelly was brought for 20 Lakh Rupees.

Pant, on the other hand, will lead the Delhi Capitals this year after having missed the previous edition due to the injuries he sustained following a horrific car crash he suffered around a year ago.

Delhi had a busy auction as they managed to rope in Harry Brook, Tristan Stubbs, Ricky Bhui, Kumar Kushagra, Rasikh Dar, Jhye Richardson, Sumit Kumar, Shai Hope and Swastik Chhikara as the capital city team go in search of their first IPL trophy.
